Growing up in a large and close-knit family, Hillary's passion for baking started very young. She was always helping her mother in the kitchen no matter the task, but her favorite activity quickly became baking chocolate chip cookies.

To save some time... fast forward to the excitement of beginning her culinary career with the James A. Forrest Career and Technology Center's Culinary Arts program in Leonardtown, Maryland where she fell in love with her now-husband and a life in the food industry. Her next big step was earning an associate's degree in Baking and Pastry Arts from Pennsylvania College of Technology followed by a bachelor's degree in Business Management Studies from University of Maryland Global Campus. Hillary has over fourteen years of professional foodservice experience (both savory and sweet), food sanitation and training certifications, and over four years of culinary instructing under her belt to ensure you and your family will be consuming only the best quality baked goods.

Officially launching Hill's Homemade in 2022 does not mean that was the true start of the business. The name "Hill's Homemade" was first used back when Hillary was in middle school and created all sorts of cakes and confections for friends and family while she was learning the art and science of baking. Now that she is settled back down in her hometown of St. Mary's County, it is time to mix up some excitement in her kitchen to share with her home state of Maryland as well as any visiting friends and family from all around. With so many passions in the culinary industry, it soon became very clear where to begin the adventure for her business. She is excited to begin this professional journey with you, starting with her favorite thing to make... cookies!
